Discover Twenty-Nine New Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander Precon Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-eating superheroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The popular trading card game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a exclusive event held at NYCC. Is this a exciting addition or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you decide.

Check out below at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful background. All items mentioned below launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before we get into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a couple of surprising details. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, where players can cheat powerful creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference here is that this new ability can affect non-creature spells too. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a bit (It counts as playing a spell, as opposed to the older mechanic). Ninjutsu is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter Sneak in future sets moving forward.

Should we were to return to the Kamigawa plane, we might use Ninjutsu because that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior game designer stated. “But on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is among four special cards with special art designed specifically for the set by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play game cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. Yet according to the developers, it’s now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers say they were careful to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets were going to be alongside it in Standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to offer the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” he added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards who could work as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone rather than only one). Check them out below:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise due to popularity. Sources indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards altogether, which translates to an extra 37 Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon includes 37 lands.)

How will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Standard Edition)

Typically, Wizards is offering a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 15 Foil land cards
  • 15 Non-foil basic lands
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Foil promotional card
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card featuring all-new TMNT art. Wizards showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces onto a pizza slice. There are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is designed for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (aka, the prize for coming in first)
  • Ninety Non-foil basic lands (for building your deck)
  • 10 Regular token cards
  • 1 drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Cooperative Play Set

Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to create Magic game products aimed at new players. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The concept here that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
